The soul of our ROSE: Rosa damascena
In the world of fine ingredients, there are few that carry as much history, fragrance, and elegance as Rosa damascena – better known as the Damask rose.
This special type of rose originates from the Middle East, specifically Syria, and has been cultivated for centuries. It is famous for its intensely fragrant, deep pink blossoms – and for the precious essential oil extracted from its petals. In the worlds of perfume and cosmetics, this oil is considered one of the most valuable essences of all.
For us, it was therefore quickly clear: if one flower were to form the heart of our ROSE aperitif, it had to be this one.
Fragrance, depth, effect
But the Damask rose is capable of more than just smelling good.
Its petals contain natural antioxidants and valuable plant compounds, and have been prized in traditional use for generations. It is said to have calming, balancing properties – it stands for relaxation, for delicate balance, for a moment of pause.
This is exactly the feeling we wanted to translate into a drink.
ROSE is therefore not just simply floral.
It is complex. Delicate in the first impression, with a subtle depth on the palate. The aroma remains present without being intrusive. Elegant, but never heavy.
A conscious decision
We made a very conscious decision to choose Rosa damascena.
Because it can do both:
convey elegance – and provide taste complexity.
Its fine, slightly astringent notes bring structure to the glass. Its fragrance creates an atmosphere. And its storied origin gives our aperitif a cultural depth that you might not see immediately – but you can taste.
